I hate winter...

As I mentioned before I take public transportation to and from work. It is a pain in itself but I believe it is the best way for me to get around. I was working in a location I haven't worked before which was fun and exciting in itself. Everything was fine until I ended my shift. Since I never traveled in the Morton Grove suburbs before I wasn't familiar with their pace buses. As I found out the pace buses ( at leas in my case) don't run past 7 PM. I had to walk for about an hour in this freezing weather to get to the closest Metra station, on my way there I fell on the sidewalk covered with ice. Fortunately I got out with only a some butt hurt. I cant wait till this weather is over I dont think I can take three more months of this.

  1. And yet, given the way the last couple years have been, this winter might linger too. Not that I buy into any of that groundhog stuff.

I guess the biggest thing is to plan your trip before you go so you don't end up walking so far. That's the PACE buses for you though -- they make CTA look good, and that's, well, difficult to do.

  2. I know how you feel. It happened once to me when I was in junior high visiting a friend. She lived in Skokie and I lived in Chicago. She neglected to tell me that the 93 California bus stop running after 7 P.M. I waited there in the freezing cold for 30 minutes, until I decided to walk home in the snow. It took me an hour in a half to get home.
I agree with you, winter please go away already.
